About the job
As a Volunteer Driver, you will collect donated food from local supermarkets, businesses, and community partners and transport it safely to our food bank.
This flexible role is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, wants to give back to the community and can spare a few hours each week.
Mileage expenses will be reimbursed.
Who Can Volunteer?
We are looking for people who are:
- Friendly, reliable and compassionate
- Happy working as part of a team
- Aged 18 or over
- Passionate about supporting the local community
Skills and Experience
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle with valid insurance.
- Friendly and professional manner.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to lift and carry boxes of food (up to approximately 10kg where appropriate).

Volunteer Shifts
Monday to Friday
Saturday
Flexible volunteering.
Even one or two collection runs each week can make a significant difference. Collection times will be agreed in advance based on your availability.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Collect food donations from supermarkets, and businesses.
- Deliver donations safely to Divine Exchange Food Bank.
- Help load and unload food donations where necessary.
- Report any issues or concerns to the Food Bank Coordinator.
- Follow health and safety procedures when transporting donations.
