The Corn Exchange Theatre Company is a registered charity seeking to find an experienced
venue manager, to help us grow our business and manage our excellent team of staff and volunteers.
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Theatre Venue Manager to oversee the daily operations of our unique venue. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities for passionate individuals eager to lead a dynamic team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and ensure the smooth functioning of all venue activities. As a key leader, you will manage staff, coordinate events, and uphold high standards of hospitality and safety to create memorable cultural experiences for our audiences. Your enthusiasm and management skills will drive the success of our theatre, fostering a welcoming environment that inspires creativity and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the operations of the venue.
- Managing employees, recruiting new staff and volunteers.
- Managing bookings for theatre lounge and private hire rooms.
- Organising training and staff development.
- Managing performers and events in the role as Duty Manager – evenings and weekends.
- Ensuring Health and Safety Compliance
- Promotion of the venue through all media sources.
- Financial Oversight and Strategic Planning.
Experience
- Strong organisational skills and leadership ability
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Financial literacy and budgeting experience.
- Problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Reliable, trustworthy and good at multi-tasking.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Excellent English and maths skills.
- Preferred Manager qualification.
