Overview
We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within our educational facility. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that classrooms, hallways, and communal areas are kept in pristine condition, supporting a safe and welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is highly desirable. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our school while working in a supportive team environment.
Working Hours are Monday to Friday 6am-8am
Rate of Pay is £12.71 per hour
Enhanced DBS is required for this position, which we will help obtain
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas following established health and safety standards
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces to maintain cleanliness throughout the school premises
- Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained in good working order and stored securely after use
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
- Adhere to the school's policies on confidentiality and safeguarding
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within allocated timeframes
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment
