Experienced Aluminium TIG Welder / Fabricator
Full-Time | Corwen, North Wales | Competitive Salary | Career Progression
About Wylfa Hardtops
Wylfa Hardtops is a young, ambitious manufacturing company based near Corwen, North Wales. We design and manufacture premium pickup hardtops and canopies for the agricultural, trade and utility markets.
We’re not a big corporation. We’re a small, hardworking team with big plans.
Our focus is simple: build exceptional products, continuously improve how we manufacture them, and create a company that people are proud to be part of.
We're growing quickly and investing heavily in our products, machinery and people. We’re now looking for an experienced Aluminium TIG Welder / Fabricator who wants to join us for more than just another welding job.
More Than Just a Welding Job
We’re looking for someone who wants a career and the opportunity to progress.
Someone who takes pride in their work, wants to develop new skills, take on more responsibility and become an important part of a growing manufacturing company.
You'll initially be heavily involved in the fabrication and TIG welding of our aluminium hardtops, while also having the opportunity to develop your skills across CNC machinery and modern manufacturing processes.
As the company grows, we want you to grow with it.
For the right person, there will be opportunities to progress into greater responsibility across production, CNC manufacturing, quality, product development and eventually team leadership.
If you're ambitious, dependable and genuinely good at what you do, we want to give you somewhere you can build a long-term career.
The Role
You'll work within our manufacturing team producing premium aluminium pickup hardtops and associated products.
Quality matters massively to us. Our hardtops are highly visible finished products, so we're looking for someone capable of producing clean, consistent, high-quality aluminium TIG welds and who takes genuine pride in the finished product.
Your role will include:
- Aluminium TIG welding and fabrication
- Assembly of our pickup hardtops and associated products
- Preparing, fitting and assembling components prior to welding
- Producing clean, consistent welds to a high visual standard
- Reading and working from engineering drawings
- Checking your own work and maintaining our quality standards
- Working with the wider production team to meet manufacturing targets
- Identifying ways to improve our products and manufacturing processes
- Supporting the development of new products as the Wylfa range expands
- Developing skills in CNC machinery and manufacturing processes
- Taking increasing ownership and responsibility as you develop within the company
What We're Looking For
Previous Aluminium TIG welding experience is essential.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is confident TIG welding aluminium
- Can consistently produce neat, high-quality finished welds
- Has previous fabrication or manufacturing experience
- Can read and understand engineering drawings
- Understands fit-up, distortion and the importance of preparation
- Has strong attention to detail
- Takes genuine pride in the quality of their work
- Is reliable and takes responsibility for what they produce
- Works well as part of a small team
- Has a practical, problem-solving mindset
- Is keen to learn new machinery and manufacturing skills
- Wants to continuously improve rather than simply doing things the way they've always been done
Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right attitude and ambition.
Who This Role Would Suit
You might already be an experienced aluminium TIG welder who feels you've reached the ceiling where you currently work.
You know you're capable of more, but there isn't much opportunity to progress beyond simply being another welder on the shop floor.
That's exactly the type of person we'd like to speak to.
At Wylfa, you'll have the opportunity to expand beyond welding — learning CNC machinery, developing your manufacturing knowledge and taking on more responsibility as the business grows.
We're still at an early stage in our growth, which means the people who join us now have a genuine opportunity to grow alongside the company and help shape where it goes.
Where Could It Lead?
We want to develop and promote good people from within wherever possible.
Your initial focus will be aluminium TIG welding and fabrication, but over time there will be opportunities to broaden your skill set into areas such as:
Aluminium TIG & Fabrication → CNC Skills → Senior Fabricator / Production Lead → Team Leadership → Production Management
Progression isn't automatic. It will come from performance, attitude, reliability, willingness to learn and taking responsibility.
But for someone with the right mindset, this can become much more than just another welding job.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience and ability
- Full-time, permanent employment
- Bonus schemes
- Genuine career progression
- Training and development on CNC machinery
- Opportunity to broaden your skills beyond welding and fabrication
- A modern, growing manufacturing environment
- Continued investment in better machinery, tooling and manufacturing processes
- A small team where your ideas and improvements are actually heard
- The opportunity to take on more responsibility as the business grows
- The chance to join early and grow alongside an ambitious company
We're serious about where we're taking Wylfa, but we also want to build a workplace where good people enjoy coming to work and feel proud of what they're building.
