Natural Stone Surfaces are a leading manufacturer of stone worktops, with our Head Office based in Chapel-en-le-Frith and operations covering the whole of the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Hand Finisher for our busy workshop in Wolverhampton.
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week (excluding breaks), with 2 hours mandatory overtime as required by the business.
This role offers the opportunity to progress through a structured pay scale linked to skills and performance, with the aim of becoming a multi-skilled operative.
Job Description:
- Hand finishing and polishing of granite, quartz, and other stone worktops to a consistently high standard;
- Shaping, smoothing, and refining edges, cut-outs, drainer grooves, and joints using hand tools and finishing equipment;
- Working from technical drawings and specifications to achieve precise finishes;
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure all products meet company and customer standards;
- Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines with minimal supervision;
- Supporting team members to ensure smooth workflow across the workshop;
- Adhering to company quality, health & safety, and operational procedures;
- Handling materials safely, including regular heavy lifting;
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace in line with 5S standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in hand finishing within the stone, masonry, or similar manufacturing environment;
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship;
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings;
- Confident using hand tools and finishing equipment;
- Good understanding of workshop health & safety practices;
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
