At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
To work as a member of the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) team, carrying out the Newborn hearing screens, recording and collecting data and liaising with parents, health professionals, other stakeholders and the NHSP Local Manager. This post will involve direct handling of Newborn babies and contact with parents or carers.
Key job responsibilities
To work as a member of the NHSP team towards provision of a 365 day service to ensure maximum coverage of births. This will to include weekends and bank holidays.
To identify on a daily basis which babies need screening working within the national guidelines and protocols.
To promote a professional, welcoming and caring environment endorsing a Family Friendly approach to care.
To ensure patients and families retain their dignity, privacy and individuality at all times.
To carry out the hearing screening of newborn babies within the hospital and outpatient clinics using automated Otoacoustic emission testing and automated auditory brainstem response testing equipment,
To accurately record clinical and test data.
To provide verbal/telephone advice to parents, health care professionals, and other stakeholders in relation to the screen.
