Trainee Legal Executive – Real Estate
We are offering the opportunity for someone to join our market-leading Real Estate Team as a Trainee Legal Executive, with a particular focus on the work we do for The Crown Estate in respect of land that is subject to escheat to the Crown and a range of other commercial property work.
Working as a Trainee Legal Executive is an ideal way to gain legal experience and deepen your knowledge of the legal sector. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experts advising clients such as The Crown Estate and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, major financial lenders and water utility providers.
The successful applicant will be supported in following the CILEx qualification route after successfully completing a six-month trial period.

Key Responsibilities
- Producing first drafts of legal documents, correspondence and reports for review by supervisors.
- Reviewing title documentation, plans and property searches and preparing summaries of key issues.
- Carrying out due diligence exercises.
- Assisting with property completions and post-completion matters, including Land Registry applications.
- Undertaking legal research and providing summaries of relevant legal developments.
- Responding to client queries and providing updates as required.
- Managing document production and maintaining accurate matter records.
- Ensuring critical dates and contractual milestones are appropriately recorded and monitored.
- Supporting business development initiatives, including event administration, preparing marketing materials and updating contact lists.
- File opening, including conflict checks, anti-money laundering (AML), identification verification and know your client (KYC) processes, together with the preparation of engagement documentation.
- Billing and financial administration, including preparing fee updates, assisting with cost estimates and producing bills.
Qualifications and Key Skills
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- An understanding of law (the successful candidate will have studied law or will be currently studying it) and an interest in real estate.
- The ability to review and interpret legal documents and identify key issues.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage competing priorities.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines when required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The confidence to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clients across a range of disciplines and seniority levels.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, together with a willingness to learn and develop.
