Tempest Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an all-boys SEMH school in South West Cambridge.
About the School
This independent specialist provision supports boys with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for social, emotional, and mental health needs. Pupils travel from across Cambridgeshire and occasionally from outside the county to attend this nurturing and inclusive school.

The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll:
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils with SEMH needs.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom.
- Help implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
- Encourage engagement with learning through patience, empathy, and creativity.
- Be a consistent, positive role model and source of encouragement for the young people in your care.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH or additional needs (school or care setting).
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
