Main Purpose of Job
The Fitter/Fabricator will be responsible for the manufacture, assembly and installation of automation machinery and equipment. This includes basic turning and milling, MIG and TIG welding, fabrication, machine assembly and customer site servicing, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.
Role and Responsibilities
. Carry out basic turning and milling operations
. Assemble automation machinery and equipment in accordance with engineering drawings.
· MIG and TIG welding
· Use a variety of equipment, including brake presses, guillotines, grinders and drills, to shape and modify metal components
· Interpret drawings and specifications to understand the required dimensions and tolerances of the parts
· Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards
· Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the equipment
· Maintain a safe and clean workstation
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as required
· Service machinery, replace components and complete detailed service reports.
Candidate Specification:
· Experience working with manual lathes, milling machines, brake presses, guillotines, grinders and drills
· Experience in MIG and TIG welding
· Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy and safety
· Good numerical and measurement skills
· Basic computer skills
· Solid communication skills
