A high-achieving secondary school in Southend-on-Sea is looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Graduate English Teacher for a full-time, one-year contract.

Graduate English Teacher – Role Details

- Term time only, plus 3 additional days
- Based in Southend-on-Sea
- Teach and support English across the secondary age range
- Deliver engaging and well-planned English lessons
- Support students with English Language and English Literature
- Work closely with experienced English Teachers and department leaders
- Build confidence in lesson planning, classroom management and subject delivery
- Gain valuable experience ahead of future teacher training
Graduate English Teacher – Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Holds a degree in English, English Literature, English Language or a closely related subject
- Has a genuine passion for English and education
- Is interested in pursuing a long-term career in teaching
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Can engage and inspire secondary-aged students
- Is confident, enthusiastic and well organised
- Has high expectations of student behaviour, progress and achievement
Previous experience working with young people would be beneficial, but it is not essential. This opportunity is ideal for a graduate who is eager to gain meaningful classroom experience and develop the skills needed for a successful career in teaching.
