Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Assistant to join our team at our Delicatessen in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be assisting with managing stock, retail merchandising and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a dynamic warehouse and retail environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of the finest Italian and Continenal produce. The position is suitable for individuals with previous warehouse or merchandising experience or those eager to learn and grow skill within this sector.
Duties
- Handling fresh and dry produce, unloading, and moving stock throughout the warehouse
- Stock rotation of speciality cheese, meats and Italian vegetables
- Picking and carefully packing orders accurately for dispatch
- Retail merchandising of fresh and dry produce
Skills
- Experience in stock handling, picking & packing, or similar warehouse roles
- Knowledge of Italian produce
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and load/unload activities; able to lift loads up to 25kg safely
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy enviroment
- Good communication skills for teamwork and coordination within the warehouse environment
- Customer service, and confidence
