The Role
Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies while providing professional advice and support to managers and employees.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards across all HR processes and helping to create a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
As our HR Officer, you will:
- Manage employee absence and sickness processes, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
- Deliver a professional, efficient, and responsive HR service across the organisation.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and a positive workplace culture.
- Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary hearings, and grievance procedures.
- Support managers with performance management processes and employee wellbeing.
- Provide advice on employment terms, conditions, policies, procedures, and best practice.
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HR records in accordance with GDPR requirements.
- Recognise and report safeguarding concerns in line with company policies and procedures.
- Produce HR reports and ensure accurate record keeping across all HR functions.
- Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with managers and employees across the organisation.
- Ensure HR processes comply with employment legislation and organisational policies.
- Carry out any additional duties appropriate to the role as requested by the HR Manager.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Previous HR experience within the health and/or social care sector.
- CIPD qualification or currently working towards one.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience handling employee relations matters, including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with people at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Experience providing advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to recognise and report safeguarding concerns.

Training & Development
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake relevant training and carry out additional duties that are consistent with the scope and purpose of the role, as directed by management.
