Night Porter / Resident Night Host

Rose Castle is a unique historic venue in Cumbria, welcoming guests throughout the year for weddings, private events, corporate retreats and residential programmes.
We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Night Porter / Resident Night Host to join our team and provide overnight support when guests are staying at the Castle.
This is a varied role combining guest support and overnight responsibility with cleaning, resetting and preparation for the following day. You'll help make sure the Castle is secure, beautifully presented and ready for our guests each morning.
What You'll Be Doing
- Being the main point of contact for resident guests overnight
- Carrying out security checks and ensuring the Castle is secure
- Responding to guest requests or issues where required
- Following fire, emergency and evacuation procedures
- Cleaning and resetting public areas after weddings, dinners and events
- Tidying and cleaning bar and service areas
- Vacuuming, mopping and general cleaning of guest areas
- Cleaning and checking guest toilets
- Removing rubbish and recycling
- Resetting furniture and rooms following events
- Setting up rooms for breakfast, meetings or events the following day
- Assisting with tables, chairs and other event equipment
- Preparing public areas ready for the morning
- Completing a clear handover for the morning team
- Supporting the wider operation with other reasonable duties when required
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, responsible and comfortable working independently
- Practical and happy to get stuck in
- Friendly and professional when dealing with guests
- Able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Calm and confident if an unexpected situation arises
- Comfortable carrying out physical duties including moving tables and chairs
- Able to follow clear safety, security and emergency procedures
- Flexible to work overnight shifts, particularly weekends and around weddings and events
Previous experience in hospitality, hotels, cleaning, security or night work would be useful, but isn't essential. Full training will be provided.
Hours & Pay
£13.50 per hour
This is a casual position, with shifts available around weddings, events and residential stays.
Typical shifts will be approximately 10.30pm–7.00am, although times may vary depending on the event and requirements of the Castle.
