This is a 10 PA Locum Consultant in Paediatric Cardiology and Congenital Cardiac Catheter Procedures. This post will be available from September 2026 for a period of 6 months initially.
This post will deliver 10PA's supporting the Congenital Cardiology Department at the Leeds General Infirmary. The Congenital Cardiology Department serves a population of approximately 5.5 million in Yorkshire, Humberside and Northern Trent. Services include all aspects of specialist tertiary care of cardiac patients with the exception of transplantation. The annual workload of the department includes over 10,000 outpatient consultants, approximately 500 catheterisations per year, (diagnostic, therapeutic and electrophysiology studies/ablations), and approximately 500 congenital cardiac operations.
The post will be based at Leeds General Infirmary.
The successful applicant should possess MRCP or equivalent and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.
Applicants should have established skills in Paediatric Cardiology and particularly, in Paediatric and Adult Congenital Catheter interventions. A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is desirable. Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential
