Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Gardener to join our team and assist with maintaining and enhancing our outdoor spaces. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance. The successful candidate will work flexible hours, contributing to the upkeep of beautiful gardens and green areas using a variety of tools and techniques. Prior growing experience and familiarity with landscape maintenance are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Use hand tools and power tools to prune, trim, and shape plants, shrubs, and trees
- Assist with irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal watering schedules
- Prepare soil beds, plant new greenery, and support ongoing plant growth
- Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, and fertilising as required
- Clear debris, weeds, and pests to promote healthy plant development
- Support landscape design projects by planting flowers, shrubs, and other decorative elements
- Follow safety procedures when handling equipment and chemicals to ensure a secure working environment
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as secateurs, spades, rakes, and shears
- Experience operating power tools including hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, and leaf blowers
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and their maintenance
- Growing experience with various plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Strong understanding of gardening principles and horticulture practices
- Ability to perform landscape maintenance tasks efficiently and with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- A genuine interest in gardening and outdoor environment management
