Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated a Support Technician to work along side Senior Technicians to join our team. This role involves restoring properties affected by water, fire, mould, or other damage, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our clients. This is a hands on role for a skilled technician who can lead by example on site while delivering high standards of workmanship, health & safety, and customer care.

Duties
1. Health & Safety Compliance
- Work under the guidance of senior team members to ensure all activities follow Health & Safety laws and Rainbow Restoration procedures.
- Participate in site risk assessments and implement safe systems of work as instructed.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
2. Support in Water Damage & Drying Works
- Assist with setting up and dismantling drying equipment such as dehumidifiers and air movers.
- Support moisture surveying by collecting readings.
- Contribute to initial mitigation efforts such as water extraction and surface cleaning.
3. Support in Fire & Smoke Restoration
- Assist with soot and residue removal under supervision.
- Help prepare areas for deodorisation and decontamination.
- Use specialist equipment (e.g. HEPA vacuums) as directed to support fire damage restoration.
4. Construction to aid in restoration
- Basic construction knowledge
- Ability to utilise both hand and mechanical tools to remove damaged materials that have been affected
5. Contents Handling & Support Restoration
- Assist with the safe packing, handling, and logging of damaged contents.
- Help clean and process contents under instruction, including textiles and furniture
- Support documentation of items using appropriate applications
6. Customer Interaction
- Maintain a courteous and professional manner on site
- Support technicians in explaining processes and setting up equipment.
- Aid in gathering documentation, images, and updates for the claim.
7. Operational Support
- Help maintain vehicles, stock levels, and site readiness.
- Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned and prepared for the next job.
- Report damaged or missing equipment immediately.
8. Compliance & Training
- Work in accordance with industry standards (e.g., BS12999, PAS 64).
- Participate in mandatory internal and external training.
Skills & Abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic IT literacy and willingness to learn field-based reporting systems.
- Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Able to follow instructions carefully and work safely.
- Capable of carrying and handling equipment safely.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including being part of the on-call rota.
- Good physical fitness, with the capacity to lift heavy materials and perform manual tasks over extended periods
Requirements
