Shifts: 10.00 pm – 07.00 am or 10.00 pm – 09.00 am
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing compassionate care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The successful candidate will work closely with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote wellbeing, development, and safety. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives while developing professional skills in childcare and support services.
What you’ll do:
- Support children and young people with daily routines, personal development, and independence skills
- Build positive, appropriate relationships and provide emotional and practical support throughout the day and maintain professional boundaries in their work
- Encourage engagement in education, activities, and community involvement
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuity of care
- Work within organisational policies, procedures and guidance
·Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming home environment, in line with organisational standards and infection-control procedures
What we’re looking for:
- Someone caring, patient, and reliable with a positive attitude that takes action and raises concerns if needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, who are committed to demonstrating the organisation's values and behaviours in their work
- The ability to stay calm and responsive in challenging situations
- Experience working with children or in residential care, or support work within an education setting, is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
- A genuine passion for helping young people thrive and achieve their potential
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
· The role requires regular travel between homes and may involve transporting young people. Applicants must be able to meet this requirement; reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate.
