Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship – Kidscape
Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Kidscape, Poole.
Requirements;
- A Level 2 Childcare qualification is essential
- You must be able to gain a clear DBS
- Have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them
At Kidscape we will provide Child Care of the highest calibre in a safe & well supervised environment where the children will be able to enjoy fun filled educational activities to further enhance their personal, social & physical development.
Pre School - In Puffins there are many opportunities for children to learn through play and exploration. These opportunities are linked to the children's own ideas, but also includes introductions to phonics, maths, marking making but most of all to the children's Personal, Social and Emotional Development skills. We want to encourage children to ask questions, use their problem solving and reasoning skills and seek answers and ultimately foster a love of learning that will continue throughout their life.
Our Stories in the Spring term are all linked to Land of imagination.
Your duties and responsibilities will include;
- To contribute to a high standard of physical, emotional, social and educational care for the children in the setting.
- To give support to the other personnel within the setting.
- To implement the daily routine in the club.
- To contribute to the planning and planned programme of activities suitable to the age range of the children in conjunction with other staff.
- To keep proper record of achievement file on key children, for parents/carers.
- Work alongside parents/carers of SEN children to provide full integration in the setting.
- Support all staff and engage in good staff team.
- Uphold standards within the setting by adhering to all policies and procedures.
- Strive to safe guard children by working to the organisation’s Safe Guarding policy.
- Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members.
- To attend out of hours activities such as, training, staff meeting, parents evening, school fayre etc.
- To be flexible within working practices of the setting and be prepared to help where needed.
- Work alongside the manager and other staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled.
- Recording any accident or incidents in the log book. Ensure the manager/deputy has initialled the report before the parents see it.
- Look upon the setting as a “whole” where your help can be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of the children.
- Ensure the children are being collected by someone known to the setting.
- To uphold the confidentiality of information received.
- To develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker.
- To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standard at all times.
- Prepare and served food and drinks for children encouraging good nutritional diet and sociable eating and acceptable social skills.
- Carry our cleaning of the room, toys, equipment and any other facilities.
- Uphold and carry out duties of the post with due regard to Kidscape Club Equality and Diversity policy.
- To prepare and set out the resources and be ready for activities that is in the planning.
- To assist the children in making or playing with the activities set out.
- Ensure that the room/club is clean and ready for the next day at the end of the session.
Hours;
- Kidscape is open from 7:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
- The successful candidate will be required to work 30+ hours per week
- Breakfast club staff to be in by 7.20 am and will finished when all the cleaning and tidying has been put away.
- After School club – staff to be in by 3 pm to help set up and be ready to collect children
- Holiday club – staff will work on a rota basis of 4 full working day (7.30 am – to 6 pm)
