We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet established quality standards and presentation expectations
- Develop and plan menus that reflect current trends while adhering to dietary requirements and restaurant branding
- Manage food preparation processes, including cooking, plating, and portion control to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to ensure availability of ingredients without overstocking
- Train and mentor staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction
- Implement innovative ideas to enhance menu offerings and improve overall kitchen performance
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and food safety practices
- Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively
- Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen organisation
- Previous restaurant experience is essential; hospitality background preferred
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and innovative menu development
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
