Job Summary
A committed, caring, and flexible Personal Care Assistant is required to support a lady in her early 30s with epilepsy, who is also a self-propelled wheelchair user. Various contracts are available including casual contracts, part time and full time, this will be discussed upon interview. The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance, these hours will include weekends/bank holidays as well as sleep-ins. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable her to manage her support independently. Training can and will be provided as required and where available. You must have a full, clean driving licence.
This role is subject to a genuine occupational requirement and is open to female applicants only (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9 Part 1).
Main Duties
- Support and encourage her with maintaining independence and enabling her to interact socially within her community.
- Establish and maintain a professional and efficient standard of care.
- Ensure her safety at all times during your working period.
- Support with personal care and toileting.
- Have good awareness of safe manual handling and hygiene.
- Provide companionship at home and engage in lively positive conversation.
- Be compassionate, caring, and respectful.
- Support and encourage with independent living skills.
- To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.
- Must be over 21, as required to drive her car.
- Welsh speaker preferable but not essential.

- Proactive individual with local knowledge.
- A good sense of humour.

- Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
- Reliable with good time keeping.
- Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
- An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Welsh speaker desirable.
- A full driving license is required.
