Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Facilitates Support Operative to join our team.
A practical, hands-on role supporting site upkeep, tool checks, small plant, basic repairs, and general facilities maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Health and Safety
· Follow all company health and safety procedures
· Report hazards, defects, or unsafe conditions
· Support a safe working environment across site
Tools and Equipment
· Inspect and maintain hand tools, power tools, and small plant
· Carry out basic fault finding and repairs
· Arrange external repairs where needed
· Support routine checks and preventative maintenance
General Maintenance & Site Upkeep
· Carry out basic repairs and upkeep across the site (e.g. doors, fencing, walkways, painting, minor plumbing/carpentry)
· Maintain general site infrastructure
· Ensure work areas remain safe, tidy, and operational
Record Keeping
· Keep simple records of inspections, repairs, and servicing
· Assist with tracking tools and equipment
Key Skills, Qualifications and Competencies
Experience
· Previous experience in maintenance, site operations, or a hands-on role
· Background in factory, construction, facilities, or similar environments desirable
Skills
· Practical and hands-on approach to work
· Basic mechanical or DIY skills
· Able to identify issues and carry out straightforward repairs
· Organised and reliable
Attitude (Key)
· Willing to learn and develop
· Takes pride in keeping the workplace safe and well maintained
· Flexible and willing to support different tasks across site
Desirable (Not Essential)
· Experience with power tools or small plant
· Basic health and safety awareness
· Any relevant maintenance or trade experience
(Formal engineering or advanced qualifications are not required for this role.)
