We are currently recruiting for experienced Residential Support Workers to join our team at our newly renovated residential children’s home in Darwen.

The Role
As an experienced Residential Support Worker and Team Leader, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and stable home environment for children and young people. You’ll support every aspect of their daily lives, from health and education to emotional wellbeing, ensuring their individual care plans are followed with consistency, compassion, and professionalism.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at all times
- Encouraging healthy routines, including positive sleep habits
- Completing regular safety, welfare, and environmental checks
- Supporting young people with medical or health needs in line with training and guidance
- Recording, reporting, and updating information accurately using company systems
- Carrying out domestic tasks to maintain a clean and comfortable home
- Responding to challenging behaviour using approved, trauma‑informed techniques
- Acting as a positive role model and building trusting, respectful relationships
Safeguarding Responsibilities
You will be expected to:
- Remain vigilant at all times to protect young people from abuse or harm
- Follow safeguarding policies and report concerns immediately
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Essential Criteria
- Right to work in the UK
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a residential children’s home
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- QCF Level 3 or 4 Residential Childcare
- NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People (or equivalent)
