Full JOB DESCRIPTION
The Organisation will employ you as an Alternative Venues, Communication and Events Coordinator for 37 hours per week excluding breaks. You will be responsible to the Deputy Chief Executive through the C&E Director for supporting the generation of income for Alternative Venues and the provision of all external and internal corporate communication, support to Reserve and Cadet recruitment, SERFCA Estates management, Community and Employer Engagement and SERFCA wide public relations (PR). The C&E Coordinator will support the C&E Director for all aspects of management and implementation of the SERFCA event programme. The incumbent will be office based in Aldershot.
Detailed Responsibilities
1. Alternative Venues
Management of Alternative Venues to include:
a. Marketing SERFCA sites for regionally generated income supporting the SERFCA Alternative Venues team.
b. Maintaining and developing the SERFCA Alternative Venues website.
c. Undertake creating, editing, updating and providing information for website and social media content.
d. Liaise with external parties on design, print and other merchandise.
2. Communications
Support to the C&E Director to include:
a. Undertake creating, editing, updating and providing information for web and social media content including uploading content at live events.
b. Maintain all SERFCA websites and all Social Media platforms.
c. Create, edit, maintain and distribute internal communications such as the newsletter and SERFCA monthly update (SMU).
d. Liaise with external parties on design, print and other merchandise.
e. Secretary to the SERFCA Communications Advisory Group.
f. Deputise for the C&E Director.
3. Events
Support to the C&E Director to include:
a. Preparation of event administration in accordance with time specific requirements and event checklists.
b. Responding to phone/email RSVPs and enquiries in a timely manner and accurately recording attendance.
c. Contacting potential guests by telephone to establish attendance or to obtain invitation responses.
d. Attend and assist on the day of events; venue and event preparation.
e. Collate data from events and surveys to analyse and populate the Employer Engagement and Community Engagement databases.
4. Other Duties:
a. There will be a requirement for some out-of-hours, weekend working and occasional over-night stays, for which time off in lieu will be given.
b. Any other duties appropriate to the grade and commensurate with the appointment.
c. Undertake driving duties related to appointment. Company pool vehicles will be available for work related tasks.
5. Special Requirements.
Essential:
a. Marketing experience.
b. Experience of event management and communications.
c. Experience of social media platforms.
d. Computer literacy to ECDL Level with demonstrable experience of Microsoft Office.
e. Full UK driving licence.
f. Subject to satisfactory MOD Base level security clearance.
Desirable:
a. Degree education or equivalent.
b. Have or be working towards Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Accreditation.
c. WordPress experience.
