Job Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated welders to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing precise welding operations, primarily using MIG welding techniques, to weld fabricated contains. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experienced welders . The position is based in Derby and involves working with various hand and power tools to ensure high-quality welds that meet safety and quality standards. we have an hourly rate of £14.00 + 50p attendance bonus and a weekly productivity bonus We work a four day week Monday to Wednesday 7.00 to 17.30 and Thursday 7.00 to 16.30 with overtime on Friday and in the week paid at £21.50 - 40h to 48h and 49h + paid at £28.50 ( this means on a Friday you can achieve double time).
Responsibilities
- Execute MIG welding on various metal parts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively to complete tasks
- Work with sheet metal and other materials to produce precise components for manufacturing processes
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide welding operations
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety protocols
- Conduct inspections of welds to ensure quality standards are met
- Assist in the setup of welding equipment and perform routine maintenance as required
Skills
- Proven experience in MIG welding and welding techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Strong understanding of sheet metal work and assembly processes
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to welding environments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
