Shape the future of financial planning propositions
Benchmark is looking for an experienced Proposition Manager to help define, develop and deliver the next generation of propositions that support financial advisers and their clients.
Reporting to the Group Proposition and Strategy Director, this is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence business strategy, drive proposition innovation and help deliver Benchmark's long-term growth ambitions.
You will work across multiple business areas, partnering with senior stakeholders, advisers, technology teams, operations, marketing and external providers to create compelling propositions that differentiate Benchmark in the market and deliver outstanding client outcomes.
This role offers the chance to make a direct impact on Benchmark's future proposition strategy.
You will identify market opportunities, develop business cases, define new solutions, improve existing propositions and work closely with delivery teams to bring initiatives to life.
Success in this role will require strong commercial awareness, strategic thinking and a deep understanding of the financial planning and adviser market.
- Partner with the Group Proposition and Strategy Director to shape future proposition strategy
- Identify market opportunities and emerging customer needs
- Define, develop and manage new propositions and product enhancements
- Prioritise proposition initiatives and develop robust business cases
- Engage with advisers, clients, partners and senior stakeholders to validate proposition concepts
- Work closely with Technology, Operations, Change and Marketing teams to deliver proposition improvements
- Define clear value propositions and customer outcomes
- Support the successful launch and ongoing management of propositions
- Develop financial and commercial analysis to support investment decisions
- Represent Benchmark at industry events, conferences and client forums
- Build strong relationships across Benchmark and the wider financial planning community
- Help communicate the Benchmark advantage across our adviser and client propositions

Extensive experience within financial services
- Strong understanding of the financial planning, wealth management, adviser and platform markets
- Proven proposition management experience
- Commercially minded with the ability to build compelling business cases
- Experience designing and delivering customer-focused propositions
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical capability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Full UK driving licence
- Degree level qualification or equivalent
- Experience working with adviser technology, platform or investment propositions
- Knowledge of customer segmentation and proposition frameworks
- Experience working within a large, regulated financial services organisation
You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different.
We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team. With an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham’s main line train station.
