Overview
An exciting and forward-thinking accountancy practice is seeking a NEW member of the leadership team to head-up the Brighton office.
This firm is known for its modern approach, strong client relationships, and commitment to delivering high-quality advisory services across a diverse client base including HNWIs, Complex Tax cases & Start-Ups.
The position offers a genuine opportunity to influence the direction of both accounting and tax services, with clear progression towards Director level and potential long-term equity opportunities.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours) with hybrid working, flexible core hours, and a strong focus on work-life balance.
Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.
Duties
- Manage, mentor, and support a team of accounting and advisory professionals through regular reviews, coaching, and continuous professional development
- Take responsibility for delivering high-quality accounting, tax compliance, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of complex clients
- Review and sign off complex statutory accounts and tax returns, including matters involving high-net-worth individuals, capital gains tax, and specialist tax areas
- Deliver tailored tax planning and advisory support across both corporate and personal taxation matters
- Act as the main senior contact for client queries, building long-standing and trusted professional relationships
- Oversee and assist with HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and technical tax matters when required
- Identify and implement improvements to internal systems, processes, and operational efficiencies within the department
- Coordinate team workloads, resource planning, and performance management to ensure deadlines and service standards are achieved
- Work closely with senior management to support wider business objectives, service enhancements, and growth plans
- Play a key role in complex advisory assignments while contributing to the ongoing development and expansion of the firm
What we're looking for
A successful candidate will demonstrate several years of UK Practice experience with strong focus on Tax and the ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
Ideally ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or working towards).
You must live within a 1hr commute of Brighton.
