Labourer with Class 1 HGV Licence
Full-Time | Permanent | £15.00 per hour + Overtime
GT Trax has been supplying ground protection solutions to the construction, events and film industries for over 20 years. We hire and install ground protection panels for construction projects, festivals, film sets and a wide range of other applications across the UK. We are a well-established business employing around 20 people, with additional staff during our busy season.
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV Driver/Labourer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
About the Role
This is not your average driving job.
If you're looking for a role where you spend all day sitting in a lorry, reversing onto loading bays and waiting for warehouse staff to unload you, then this probably isn't the position for you.
However, if you enjoy variety, working outdoors, travelling to different locations and being part of a hands-on team, we'd love to hear from you.
No two days are the same. You could be delivering and installing ground protection panels anywhere from Cambridge to London, Birmingham, Scotland or anywhere else across the UK. You'll work on construction sites, major events, festivals and film sets—often in locations most people never get the chance to visit.
When you're not driving, you'll be working alongside our experienced team loading, unloading and installing ground protection systems on site.
Vehicles You'll Drive
The main vehicle is a 44-tonne wagon and drag with a manual gearbox, although depending on operational requirements you may also drive:
- Articulated vehicles
- Rigid HGVs
- 3.5-tonne vehicles
What We're Looking For
- Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling
- Flexible approach to working hours and occasional nights away
Training & Development
We invest in our people and will provide training for the right candidate, including:
- Forklift Truck (FLT) training
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card
- Any additional qualifications required for the role
Pay & Benefits
- £15.00 per hour
- Overtime paid after 40 hours per week at time and a half
- Double time for Sundays and Bank Holidays
- Permanent, full-time position
- Opportunities to develop new skills and gain recognised qualifications
- Varied work across the UK
- Occasional overnight stays, depending on project location
