Job Summary
The HR Administrator will provide efficient, accurate, and confidential administrative support across the full employee lifecycle. This role is integral to ensuring HR processes run smoothly, records are maintained in line with legislation and best practice, and employees receive timely and professional HR support.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date employee records, both electronic and paper‑based
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including right‑to‑work checks and employment documentation
- Issue contracts of employment, variation letters, and other standard HR correspondence
- Ensure personnel files are compliant with GDPR, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with recruitment administration, including advert management, interview scheduling, and candidate communications
- Support pre‑employment checks, including references, DBS checks (where applicable), and onboarding documentation
- Maintain recruitment records, trackers, and vacancy status updates
- Support the administration of probation reviews, appraisals, and the maintenance of training and development records
- Act as a first point of contact for basic HR queries from employees and managers
- Support absence management processes by maintaining accurate sickness and leave records
- Ensure all HR documentation and processes are followed consistently and accurately
Experience
- Previous experience in an HR administrative or HR support role, with exposure to the full employee lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of maintaining accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR and compliance standards
- Experience supporting recruitment processes, including onboarding, pre-employment checks, and candidate coordination
- Proven ability to prepare and manage HR documentation such as contracts, letters, and employee correspondence
- Experience handling HR queries, supporting absence management, and maintaining accurate HR data and reports
