Hours: Early morning starts required (between 04:30 - 06:30)
Forklift Licence is desirable, but not essential.
The Role
We are recruiting for a reliable and experienced Van Driver to join an established business based near Witney on a 13-week temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to become a permanent employee following successful completion of the initial temporary period.
You will be responsible for delivering goods to customers safely and efficiently, providing a professional service throughout each delivery. Routes predominantly cover London and the surrounding counties, as well as Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire.
The role involves manual handling and heavy lifting, so applicants must be comfortable with the physical requirements of the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver goods to customers safely and on time
- Load and unload the vehicle, including heavy and bulky items
- Complete and maintain accurate delivery documentation
- Communicate with warehouse colleagues and customers regarding deliveries
- Carry out routine vehicle checks
- Report vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
- Ensure goods are transported safely and securely
- Follow all road traffic regulations and company procedures
- Provide a professional and helpful service to customers
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' van delivery driving experience - multidrop
- Full, valid UK driving licence
- Good driving record
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules
- Previous commercial driving or warehouse experience would be advantageous
- Reliable, punctual and customer-focused
- Good standard of spoken and written English
Due to the early start times, applicants must be able to reliably commute to the Witney area.
