Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle inspections, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. Duties
- Conduct thorough MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Diagnose mechanical faults using specialised tools and equipment
- Perform repairs, replacements, and servicing on various vehicle components, including brakes, suspension, and engine systems
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out maintenance tasks
- Assist with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and road tests to verify repairs have been successfully completed
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Assist colleagues as needed to ensure timely completion of all service tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or similar role with relevant qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling of vehicle parts or equipment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential; however, the ability to manoeuvre vehicles within the workshop is required
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training to stay current with industry standards and regulations
