Mobile Vehicle Technician
MotorSafe Rescue is expanding, and we’re looking for skilled, reliable and customer-focused Mobile Vehicle Technicians / Mechanics to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians who want the freedom of a mobile role, the variety of working on different vehicles, and the support of an established rescue and vehicle services business.
About the Role
As a Mobile Vehicle Technician with MotorSafe Rescue, you’ll provide professional vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repair services at customers’ homes, workplaces and other convenient locations.
Unlike traditional roadside rescue work, our technicians are not simply carrying out temporary roadside fixes. You’ll have the time, equipment and technical support needed to diagnose problems properly and complete quality repairs wherever practical.
You’ll receive a planned schedule of jobs and will be responsible for managing your appointments, communicating with customers and completing work to a high professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day work may include:
- Routine servicing and vehicle maintenance
- Mechanical repairs and component replacement
- Vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
- Electrical fault diagnosis
- Brake, suspension and steering repairs
- Battery and charging system checks
- Vehicle safety inspections
- Preventative maintenance
- Carrying out repairs that would traditionally be completed in a workshop
- Providing customers with clear advice and recommendations
- Completing accurate job reports and digital paperwork
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to MotorSafe Rescue standards
- Maintaining your vehicle, tools and equipment to a professional standard
Every job will be different, so strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills are essential.
A Mobile Role With More Independence
Working for MotorSafe Rescue means you’ll spend much of your working day out on the road rather than being based permanently in a workshop.
You’ll visit customers at their home, workplace or other agreed location, giving you the independence to manage your own workload while still having the backing of our team.
We’re looking for technicians who take pride in their work and understand that excellent customer service is just as important as excellent mechanical ability.
What We Provide
We want our technicians to have everything they need to do the job properly.
Depending on the position and location, you can expect:
- Fully equipped company vehicle
- Professional tools and diagnostic equipment
- Company fuel card
- Uniform and PPE

- Technical support when required
- Parts and repair support
- Ongoing training and development

What We're Looking For
We’re interested in hearing from experienced Vehicle Technicians and Mechanics who can work independently and confidently.

Either:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, with relevant industry experience
Or:
- Significant practical experience working as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or similar role
And:
- A full UK driving licence
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- The ability to work independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- A professional approach to customers
- Good communication skills
- A commitment to health and safety
- The ability to manage a schedule and complete jobs efficiently
Experience with modern diagnostic systems, hybrid vehicles or electric vehicles would be an advantage, although training may be available for the right candidate.
Who Thrives at MotorSafe Rescue?
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and doesn't want to spend every day in the same workshop.
You’ll be meeting customers every day, so we’re looking for someone who is:
- Professional and approachable
- Honest and dependable
- Technically confident
- A good problem solver
- Comfortable working independently
- Customer-focused
- Organised and punctual
- Proud of the quality of their work
You’ll be representing MotorSafe Rescue directly with every customer, so your attitude and professionalism matter just as much as your technical ability.
