Senior Support Worker (16–18-Year-Old Young People)
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team supporting young people aged 16–18 years . This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people develop independence, confidence, and life skills while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead by example, support the day-to-day running of the service during weekends, and provide guidance to support staff while maintaining high standards of support and safeguarding.
Duties
- Provide high-quality support, and guidance to young people aged 16–18.
- Promote independence, life skills, education, employment, and positive outcomes.
- Act as a role model and build positive, professional relationships with young people.
- Lead shifts and support staff members during weekend operations.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Complete accurate records, reports, and incident documentation.
- Support with care planning, risk assessments, and key-working responsibilities.
- Manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Liaise effectively with social workers, families, education providers, and external agencies.
- Participate in activities that support young people's personal development and wellbeing.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people in residential care, supported accommodation, or a similar setting.
- Experience leading shifts or supervising staff.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Qualifications
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
