We are seeking a motivated and experienced chef to join our dynamic outside catering team. The role will support senior staff in food preparation, event execution, logistics, and team coordination, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and safety are maintained at all times. Tuesday - Saturday (Sunday / Mondays usual days off)
Weekdays- usually 9-4
Saturdays - longer event day
28 Days Holiday a Year + 3 thank you gift days over Christmas.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards for events
- Support the supervision of kitchen and event staff to ensure smooth operations both on-site and off-site
- Help manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards, transportation, and proper storage procedures
- Assist with the preparation, packing, and transportation of food and equipment to event locations
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen and event workspace
- Participate in food production for a variety of events, including private functions, corporate catering, and large-scale gatherings
- Assist with stock control, inventory checks, and ordering supplies as needed
- Support setup and breakdown of catering events, including plating, service areas, and equipment
- Work alongside the team during live events to ensure timely service and high-quality delivery
- Uphold excellent customer service standards when interacting with clients and guests
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, or kitchen environments
- Experience in catering or events is highly desirable
- Supervisory or team management skills are an advantage
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, particularly in off-site catering environments
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and high-volume catering practices
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, event-driven environments
