As our events calendar continues to grow, we are looking for talented and reliable Event Chefs to join our team on a freelance basis. You’ll work across an exciting and varied calendar of events alongside a passionate and experienced kitchen and events team.
We welcome applications from chefs at a range of levels who have experience working within professional kitchens. We are looking for people who are passionate about food, take pride in their work and can consistently deliver to a high standard in a busy event environment.
Our production kitchen is based in Maidenhead, with events taking place primarily across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, London and the surrounding areas. As many of our venues are not easily accessible by public transport, having your own transport is preferred.
The Role
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes for weddings, private celebrations and corporate events
- Ensuring food is prepared and presented in line with Goose + Berry’s standards and individual event requirements
- Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen management standards
- Keeping preparation areas, event kitchens and equipment clean and organised
- Working closely with the Head Chef, Event Managers and Front of House teams to deliver a smooth service
- Remaining calm, organised and efficient within fast-paced event kitchens
- Representing Goose + Berry professionally when working at event venues and client locations
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working as a chef within a restaurant, catering or events environment
- Genuine passion for food and consistently delivering high standards
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure
- Positive, reliable and proactive approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Full UK driving licence and own transport are preferred due to the location of many of our events
