The Role
Jefferis Engineering Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager (Mechanical) to lead and support our Project Management team and maintain successful delivery across our growing portfolio of mechanical projects.
This is a senior operational role for someone who understands what good mechanical project delivery looks like and can provide the leadership, structure and oversight needed to keep multiple projects performing.
Rather than managing one individual project, you will maintain visibility across our project portfolio – leading and supporting our Project Managers, reviewing and challenging programmes, identifying risks early and ensuring appropriate action is taken to maintain successful delivery.
You will work closely with our Project Managers, commercial team, fabrication and offsite operation, site teams, clients and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and support our Project Management team.
- Maintain oversight of delivery across multiple live projects.
- Review and challenge project programmes, sequencing and key milestones.
- Hold Project Managers accountable for programme, quality and successful project delivery.
- Identify programme, resource and delivery risks early and drive appropriate action.
- Monitor labour requirements, productivity and resource planning across projects.
- Ensure Project Managers maintain clear, accurate and timely project reporting.
- Maintain oversight of procurement, costs, variations and overall commercial performance.
- Ensure effective coordination between our fabrication/offsite operations and site delivery teams.
- Support successful delivery across pipework, plant rooms, building services and associated public health installations.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Drive consistently high standards of health & safety, quality and delivery.
- Provide clear project and portfolio updates to senior leadership.
- Step in when required to support Project Managers and resolve issues that could affect successful delivery.
About You
We are looking for an experienced project professional with strong leadership skills and a sound understanding of mechanical delivery.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience delivering mechanical projects within building services.
- Experience as a Senior Project Manager or experienced Mechanical Project Manager ready to take responsibility across a wider project portfolio.
- Experience overseeing multiple projects and ideally leading or supporting other Project Managers.
- A sound understanding of pipework systems, plant rooms and building services delivery.
- Strong programme planning, sequencing and project-control skills.
- The ability to critically review and challenge project programmes.
- Good commercial awareness, including procurement, costs and variations.
- Strong leadership, communication and client-facing skills.
- A structured, organised and delivery-focused approach.
- The confidence to challenge where necessary while supporting and developing the wider team.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving project risks.
- A strong focus on quality and client satisfaction.
- A full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Experience of offsite manufacturing, pipework fabrication, prefabricated plant rooms or modular solutions would be highly advantageous.
