Part-Time Day Care Assistant
Broadland View Care Home – Norwich
Broadland View Care Home is looking for a kind, reliable and compassionate Part-Time Day Care Assistant to join our friendly team.
We are a residential care home supporting older people living with dementia. We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and helping residents feel safe, respected and valued.
The Role
As a Day Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, continence care and oral hygiene
- Supporting residents to eat and drink safely
- Encouraging independence, dignity and choice
- Spending meaningful time with residents and supporting social activities
- Providing reassurance and emotional support to residents living with dementia
- Assisting residents with mobility and safe transfers
- Completing care records accurately and promptly
- Reporting any changes in a resident’s health, behaviour or wellbeing
- Working closely with colleagues, senior carers and management
- Following care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and infection-control guidance
- Maintaining residents’ privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is compassionate, patient and respectful
- Has a genuine interest in supporting older people and people living with dementia
- Is reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Can communicate confidently with residents, relatives and colleagues
- Is willing to complete all required training
- Understands the importance of dignity, choice and person-centred care
- Can remain calm and reassuring when supporting residents who may be confused, anxious or distressed
Previous care experience and relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential, as training and support can be provided to the right person.
Hours
This is a part-time day position.
Applicants must be available to work a flexible rota, which may include weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.
