Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal standards, accurately assessing vehicle safety, emissions, and roadworthiness
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections, identifying faults and recommending necessary repairs or maintenance
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments
- Assist with general mechanical repairs, including brake work, suspension checks, engine diagnostics, and tire replacements
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing vehicle parts or equipment
- Maintain detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and test results in compliance with industry regulations
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on a variety of vehicles
- Familiarity with using hand tools and power tools effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience performing MOT tests is highly desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair tasks
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Prior experience working in an automotive workshop or service center is preferred but not mandatory
