Main Duties and Responsibilities
To be directly responsible and accountable for the effective day-to-day running and management of security operations across the site, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning at all times.
Serve as the primary first point of contact for the entire security team and effectively deal with all day-to-day operational matters including but not limited to dress standards, discipline issues, conduct concerns and general welfare matters.
Actively assist in and coordinate the ongoing training and development programmes for resident security teams and ensure all new security officers are comprehensively and fully trained and properly inducted to the site-specific procedures, protocols and policies including CCTV monitoring systems, access control systems, deliveries and removals procedures, fire alarm systems and intruder alarm response protocols.
Actively develop and foster strong teamwork within the workforce, ensuring consistently high morale through effective motivation, positive leadership and excellent communication techniques.
Assist in regularly reviewing and evaluating security officers' performance and ongoing development needs, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
To assist in conducting any security-related or equipment investigations, such as thefts, missing items, complaints, incidents or any other matters requiring thorough examination and documentation.
Provide professional, courteous customer and client liaison as and when required, maintaining excellent relationships and responding promptly to queries and concerns.
Ensure that Assignment Instructions are strictly followed and adhered to at all times by security personnel and shipping personnel, with no deviations from established protocols.
Ensure that any important messages, updates or critical information are properly shared and communicated during the security handover process and that all security personnel read, understand and formally acknowledge them in a timely manner.
Ensuring that all security records, logs, reports and documentation are kept accurate, complete and up to date at all times in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure that the security team fully complies and adheres with all relevant data protection legislation, regulations and guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
What We Are Looking For
Demonstrable previous security experience in a similar supervisory or operational role, preferably within a corporate or commercial environment
Valid and current SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guard)
SC (Security Clearance) Clearance desirable or the ability to obtain this clearance
Strong, good reading, writing and communication skills with excellent verbal and written English language proficiency, including the ability to produce clear, accurate reports and documentation.
Be fully computer and software literate, with competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and security management systems.
Demonstrable Reliability, self-motivation and proven ability to use own initiative and work effectively without direct supervision, exercising sound judgement in challenging situations.
The proven ability to solve complex problems, make sound, timely decisions and effectively prioritise competing demands and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
The demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire and lead staff effectively, fostering a positive team culture and high performance standards.
