The pay will be £15.84ph plus a Recruitment Incentive totaling £8,030.88 per year for four years. Subject to conditions.

Job Description
This position's main purpose is to maintain, inspect, repair, and modify liquid fuel storage and distribution systems. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, cleaning bulk storage tanks, and strictly following all safety procedures. The role may also include other duties within the water and fuel shop as required.
Qualifications and Key skills
· Valid UK CAT B driving license
· NVQ/City and Guilds Level 2 Welding and Mechanical Engineering certification, or HND/HNC/BTEC, is desirable
Possessing at least one year of specialized experience, the candidate has comprehensive knowledge of fuel distribution and storage systems, including the physical properties and hazards associated with handling various petroleum fuels, alongside established preventive maintenance and inspection techniques. This technical foundation is backed by a strong commitment to safety regulations, procedures, and practices, as well as hands-on skills in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components such as electric motors, disconnect switches, starters, contactors, solenoids, and magnetic switches. Additionally, they are highly skilled in calibrating gauges, pipefitting (measuring, cutting, and joining), analyzing system deficiencies, and diagnosing malfunctions in critical components like pumps, valves, and meters.
Conditions of employment
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. This position may also be coded as mission essential.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
4. Your schedule is flexible to meet mission needs and may require overtime, shift work, and work on evenings, weekends, or holidays. You may be assigned other duties appropriate to your grade and skill set.
5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. The work may require that the employee be certified in the use of a respirator as well as be certified or able to be certified as qualified for entry into hazardous liquid fuel tanks for inspection, cleaning, and repair.
7. A physical will be required for this position. This will be conducted at RAF Lakenheath.
