Class 2 Driver
We are currently seeking a reliable Class 2 Driver for our client located in Darwen.
Working Hours:
- Start times between 04:00 and 06:00.
Benefits:
- £15.51 per hour.
- £17.26 per hour
- Temp-to-perm position for the right candidate after 13 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering paint to various retail customers.
- Handling tail lift and pump truck deliveries.
- Ensuring compliance with driver hours and Road Transport Directive regulations.
- Conducting safety and legality checks on the vehicle and following proper procedures if issues arise.
- Representing the company professionally when interacting with customers.
- Completing necessary paperwork accurately and promptly, including using electronic devices like scanners and handheld PODs.
- Planning and adjusting delivery routes as needed, and communicating any issues related to load planning and routing with the traffic office.
- Adhering to Health & Safety standards both on the road and at customer locations, ensuring your fitness to drive is maintained at all times.
Requirements:
- Valid HGV 2 (CAT C) licence.
- Current Driver CPC card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph card.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience driving an HGV 2 (as required by insurance).
- Knowledge of driving regulations, especially tachograph rules.
- Flexibility to work varying hours based on customer requirements.
- Physically fit, as some manual handling is involved.
- Strong planning abilities, initiative, and a positive approach.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good relationships with customers.
- Proactive in meeting branch targets and performance goals.
- Self-motivated with a focus on achieving high standards.
