Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Delivery Driver to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for multi-drop deliveries to butcher shops in the central belt of scotland, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of meat carcasses to various locations. Your role will involve manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting, to safely load and unload items. we operate from mon-sat every week, mon-fri 5.30am-1.30pm and a Saturday from 5.30am to 11.30 am, working a Saturday is non negotiable so please do not apply if you cannot commit to the hours outlined above.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles for multi-drop deliveries across designated routes
- Load and unload goods manually, utilizing proper lifting techniques to handle heavy items effectively
- Verify delivery addresses and ensure accurate order fulfillment before dispatching
- Communicate professionally with customers upon delivery, providing excellent service and assistance as needed
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and completion records
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations to ensure safe driving practices at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving multi-drop deliveries
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; full UK license no need for a class ticket, we operate long wheel base vans so a basic licence is all that is required
- Experience with commercial driving vehicles is essential
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with manual handling procedures is highly advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers
- Knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards applicable to commercial vehicles
