Greendale Farm Shop are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on, and commercially minded Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Fish & Chip Shop. This is a varied role that combines hospitality, retail, customer service, food safety, and team leadership.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring the business operates efficiently, profitably, and to the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and compliance.
Pay
- From £15 per hour depending on experience
Working Pattern
- 40-45 hours per week
- Evening and Weekend availability is essential
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage the daily operation of the Fish & Chip Shop.
- Ensure excellent customer service is consistently delivered.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and food hygiene.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
- Prepare rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching.
- Promote a positive, supportive team culture.
- Ensure compliance with employment policies and health & safety procedures.
Food & Retail Management
- Monitor food quality and presentation.
- Ensure cooking procedures meet company standards.
- Maintain product quality.
- Introduce seasonal products and promotions.
Stock Control
- Manage ordering.
- Monitor stock levels and minimise waste.
- Conduct quarterly stock takes.
- Ensure accurate pricing and merchandising.
- Maintain supplier relationships.
Financial Responsibilities
- Monitor sales and labour costs.
- Work towards agreed sales and profitability targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance using Safer Food Better Business.
- Maintain HACCP procedures and food safety records.
- Ensure Health & Safety policies are followed.
- Maintain allergen information and legal labelling.
Marketing
- Work with our Marketing Team to promote the Dept & it’s offering.
- Maintain high visual merchandising standards in the Dept
- Encourage repeat business through excellent customer service.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous management experience within hospitality, retail, or food service.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Knowledge of food hygiene regulations.
