Field Service Technician (HGV Mechanic Team)

This role is based from Low Marnham, NG23 6SP. We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join our HGV Mechanic Team. This is a road-based role providing maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repairs to our fleet of HGVs and trailers across JG Pears sites. Working from a fully equipped service vehicle, you will respond to planned maintenance and breakdowns, helping to keep our fleet safe, compliant and operational.
Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm

Responsibilities
- Carry out planned servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV trucks and trailers across JG Pears sites
- Travel to company sites to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and provide effective roadside and onsite support
- Complete inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure full DVSA compliance
- Complete all maintenance records and paperwork accurately
- Work safely at all times, following company health and safety procedures
- Liaise with the workshop team and operational departments to prioritise repairs and maximise fleet availability
Requirements
- Fully qualified HGV Technician with a City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
- Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGV trucks and trailers
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload while working remotely
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance
- Full UK driving licence
