Job Summary
At the Jacobite Cafe within Killiecrankie Visitor Centre, we are seeking a PART-TIME (16 to 20 hours per week) enthusiastic and dedicated Cafe and Retail Team Member to join our vibrant team in a gorgeous setting!
In this role you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing a variety of food and beverages, assisting with the retail area and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and drink, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a sometimes fast-paced setting. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary and hospitality skills within a supportive team environment.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages in accordance with company standards
- Take customer orders accurately and process transactions efficiently using the POS system
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including food preparation stations, retail area and seating areas
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management
- Provide friendly and attentive service to all customers, addressing any special requests or dietary requirements
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to create a safe environment for staff and customers
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or café environment is preferred; extra training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards is advantageous
- Experience in serving customers with excellent communication skills and a 'can-do' attitude is desirable
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients are necessary
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance
