Ability to Commute:
We offer a range of services, including: Short breaks, Domiciliary care ( 45 minutes - 1 hour per visit), Complex Care ranging from 4 to 12 hours per shift – with something to suit most HCAs.
Job Overview:
- To provide care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and agreed standards under the direction of the Senior Carer/ Clinical Lead
- To support and enable service users to maintain skills and personal interests while delivering person-centred complex care unique to everyone.
- Promote the independence of the service user.
- To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as required, from time-to-time, to maintain and progress knowledge.
- Supporting with the daily living activities
- Talking with the patients and reassuring them
- Support the Service Users with Personal care.
- Support Service Users with the Medication
- Provide care according to the Service User Conditions, following training and company policies.
The Health Care Assistant's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure that service users are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences are taken into consideration to enhance their wellbeing.
- Support service users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community, family, and friends.
- Ensure care plans and other information about how to support service users are followed.
- Be responsible for informing the Senior Carer/Clinical Lead of any changes in the needs of service users.
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support.
Specific Requirements for Qualifications
- Complex Care Training and Experience
- Good English - written and verbal is required
- Qualification in social care is desirable.
- Excellent Communication
- Problem Solver
Specific Requirements for Skills
- Complex Care (Important Must Have): Knowledge of Complex Care e.g. PEG, Suction, Ventilation, Tracheostomy.
- Behavioural Support Experience: Experience working with Learning Disability, Autism, Challenging Behaviour.
- Proficient Written Skills: Maintain all care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy
- Leadership Skills: Ability to induct and orientate new employees to the job role and service. Provide service users with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks, including bathing, eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom. Communicate any problems, concerns or changes to service users’ family members as needed
- Problem-solving Skills: Carers need to be able to adapt to and address situations quickly
- Communication Skills: Carers must build a rapport with service users by establishing personal connections and showing an interest in their lives.
Specific Requirement for Previous Experience
- Previous experience of working in similar environments is desirable
- Experience of working with service users, particularly children with complex care and and those that may have additional support needs is desirable.
- Previous experience of working in a similar environment is desirable.
Location:
You will be required to work at different locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice
Working Hours: 5 days over a 7-day period, with varying shift patterns as agreed with the manager.
