Job Description
- Assist the chef with preparing meals from scratch using fresh ingredients and completing daily kitchen duties
- Prepare and cook meals in the chef’s absence, working collaboratively with the catering team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen in line with health and safety regulations
- Carry out washing up and general kitchen cleaning after meal service
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, particularly regarding children’s dietary requirements and allergies
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Communicate clearly with the chef and nursery practitioners
- Be flexible when required to support the catering department, including covering absences and holiday leave
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
Hours
- 30 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 11:30am – 5:30pm (would be required to adjust hours in chefs absence)
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00 per hour
