At Life Couriers, our operation is fast-paced, customer-focused and constantly evolving. We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded Logistics Manager to take ownership of our transport and warehouse operation and help us deliver the next stage of our growth.
This is more than keeping the operation running. You’ll have real responsibility for people, performance, customers, compliance and profitability, working closely with the Regional Manager and senior leadership team to drive standards and identify opportunities to improve.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Leading and developing the supervisor, transport and warehouse teams - total 10 people, creating a positive, accountable and high-performing culture.
- Taking ownership of depot performance, KPIs, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Managing resources effectively, including drivers, vehicles, warehouse capacity and workload planning.
- Ensuring the depot operates safely and remains fully compliant with health & safety, vehicle and legal requirements.
- Managing the depot budget, monitoring performance and taking action to improve profitability.
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service.
- Using data and operational insight to challenge the way we work and continually improve.
- Setting clear expectations, coaching your team and developing future talent.
- Working with senior leaders and other functions to support business growth and new projects.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for an established logistics leader who is comfortable taking ownership and making decisions.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Proven experience managing a busy transport, logistics or warehouse operation.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, develop and hold people accountable.
- A good understanding of commercial performance, budgets and operational KPIs.
- Excellent knowledge of health & safety and logistics compliance.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence working with customers, suppliers and senior stakeholders.
- A “can-do” attitude and a genuine desire to improve standards. This is a hands on role - leading from the front.
- The confidence to make decisions, challenge the status quo and lead by example.
- Good IT skills, including experience with WMS, routing systems, Excel and Word.
