Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and culinary arts, with a proven track record in supervising staff and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Lead and supervise the entire kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
- Develop and plan diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer preferences
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
- Manage food production processes to optimise efficiency while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
- Train and mentor staff to enhance skills, teamwork, and professional development
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Implement new recipes and culinary techniques to keep offerings innovative and appealing
- Maintain a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and high performance
Experience
- Proven experience in a senior culinary role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and manage operational challenges
- Experience in restaurant management or hospitality industry preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous
Pay: £38,000.00-£44,000.00 per year
