Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
- Manage food production processes, including portion control and ingredient quality assurance
- Oversee food safety protocols and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Assist in menu planning and development to introduce innovative culinary offerings
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
- Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Excellent culinary skills with an eye for detail in presentation and flavour balance
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Good understanding of restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service excellence
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
- Organisational skills to oversee inventory management and maintain operational efficiency
