Overview
We are seeking a dependable and physically capable General Labourer to join our team. This role involves supporting various construction, landscaping, and maintenance projects, requiring a proactive attitude and willingness to undertake diverse manual tasks. The ideal candidate will have some experience in horticulture, gardening, or construction, and possess a strong work ethic. Duties
- Assisting with landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, and general garden care
- Operating hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various tasks
- Supporting construction activities such as site clearance, material handling, and basic assembly
- Using mechanical knowledge to maintain and troubleshoot equipment like excavators or irrigation systems
- Performing routine maintenance tasks on tools and machinery to ensure optimal operation
- Assisting with the installation and upkeep of irrigation systems and other horticultural features
- Moving materials around sites using appropriate manual or mechanical methods
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times
- Supporting specialised tasks involving gardening, horticulture, or landscaping as required
Skills
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction or maintenance equipment
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with operating excavators or other heavy machinery (training provided if necessary)
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and upkeep
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads safely
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in completing assigned duties
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Previous construction experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
